Timothy Treadwell, who didn’t tread too well into bear country it seems. It looks like a lot of fun playing with wild animals but there is no room for mistakes. I looked up my old doctor and he seems to still be in business and at the same place, I got his number and will call. ---

I heard the tape, horrible way to go, do not ever listen to it. I had a “friend” who thought it would be “cool” to listen to and played it for a group of us, unannounced. A\*\*hat. The girlfriend surely did not deserve that. I spent most of the day practicing “Billie Jean” and finally feel pretty good about it. The Bass part is hard because, on the record, it is a synth part and getting the feel is rather difficult. Yeah Me. I also was invited to a ukulele beginner class and think I am going to go next week. **Midget and I** can do “Dueling Ukes” or something. 😃 **Sari** go to the Doc and get outta that house. Since I cannot sleep for some reason let me take a few moments to tell you about my week. My mom went out of town for a couple of days and so my dad was having to travel back and forth to take care of my grandparents. One day earlier this week at about 6 in the morning there was an explosion or something that sound like something very, very heavy fell. Immediately afterwards the furnace came on. I didn’t know if it was a coincidence or not so I shut it off. I didn’t see anything upstairs so I went downstairs to check. The noise was so loud that it even woke up my grandparents who can’t hear very well. So, I called my dad and he came up and didn’t see anything inside or outside the house. And he turned the furnace back on. The next morning I get up out of bed and open my door and I smell gas. Then I open the basement door and I smell gas a bit stronger. I looked at the thermostat and it was set for 72 or something like that and the furnace wasn’t working properly because it was only 68 in the house. Once again I called my dad and turned the furnace off. This time because I smelled gas I loaded myself, my grandparents, and my dogs into the car to wait for my dad to get here. Of course by the time he got here, there was no gas smell. Just to be safe, though, he called a furnace guy who will be out on Saturday. As a result, we’ve been without heat for 3 or so days. Fortunately it’s not terribly cold, although my grandparents live in the basement so it’s always colder down there. It’s a good thing we all have electric blankets! And there you have the exciting story of my week from the chilly household of the Scones Family. ---

I opened a pull top can earlier but the top didn’t come all the way off. In trying to push the top into the can so that there wouldn’t be a sharp edge sticking out, I managed to cut my thumb right next to the nail. I immediately ran it under cold water & put pressure on it for a minute or two but didn’t see any blood so I thought it was merely a flesh would. But, **No** , if I didn’t hold pressure on it, it would start to bleed…for almost two hours. My other fingers were sore from squeezing so long that I ended up fashioning a rubber band ‘tourniquet’. Of course I managed to open it up again when I removed that. It didn’t look too big or deep but given how long it was bleeding, I was thinking I might need to pay the ER a visit for a stitch. Think I may need to partake of a little ‘liquid pain killer’ ---

I have a black eye! :eek: No, hubby didn’t sock me, I didn’t run into a door. All I did was use my netty pot because my sinuses were stuffy. Afterward, I thought I had something in my eye, hubby looked and couldn’t see anything. A half hour later I had a shiner. I must have broken a blood vessel near my tear duct. No, I’m not taking a picture of it. ---

Oh yes, I completely agree. I’d rather be cold than go kaboom. It was a rather chilly walk from the bathroom to the bedroom after I took a shower this morning. :eek: So, here it is, my last day of my first placement. There’s going to be two little parties because I work with a 2nd grade class and a 3rd grade class. Cookies and punch for everyone (and pencils and bookmarks)! And Miss Scones trying not to get all sentimental and cry because she’s going to miss her students. The 2nd graders gave it away already that my mentor teacher took a picture of them for me. :(🙂 Must not cry… Must not cry… ---

It’s my last day on this assignment, finally…I know I keep saying that, but I think this really is going to be the final day. I must phone the agency and see if they’ve got anything else in the pipeline although I quite fancy having a few days off to stay at home and do some baking. I started day one of the new exercise regime last night. I am hobbling about like a 90-year old cripple today, I can’t believe how much my legs are aching after only the first workout. Can’t give in though, I’ve got round 2 tonight! ---

Tried to post this last night but the intertubes would not let me. After a little searching, I believe I listened to the “fake” tape. I had no idea it even existed, gullible me. When I lived in Fayetteville, we did tons of camping and hiking. Never carried a firearm, we were taught to be a little loud to not surprise the Bears and run when we came upon Pot fields. I told the person I’m sorry she has the flu and hope she gets better soonest. Still, it’s a dreary, drizzly day so I’m glad I didn’t have to make that 140 mile round trip. ---
