I was raised Catholic and remember Mom voluntelling me to help the church ladies drape cloths over the statues on some sort of schedule. I complained a lot because while I was good enough to climb tall ladders with heavy, dusty velvet cloths I wasn’t good enough to be an Alter Boy because I wasn’t a boy. Our church hasn’t reopened yet but when I was last there, one of the Alter Boys was my neighbor’s daughter so I stopped being mad about that. I still wouldn’t want to climb a ladder with a heavy, dusty velvet cloth. ---

**missred** , I’ve heard of Tamiflu, is it OTC? I had a flu shot last year, but then, I haven’t had the flu in forever. Sounds as if you are icky but have decent prospects to get better.But take care and get all the good food and sleep you can. ---

JRT mix Neither of who could jump, and had a combined IQ of a matchstick. And both exercised their 5th Amendment rights(I would have questioned how much roomie had consumed if they hadn’t). I got a text about it, but I had no clue either. So I get home, and Gordie is in his kennel. He perks up, and starts wagging. The he stops. We’ll leave our car at her house instead of paying $120 to park while we’re gone. I’ll slip her some cash to cover gas and inconvenience. So that’s settled. Last night, we drove to the marina - **FCD** got a message that a different slip was available and did we want it. Even tho it’s more expensive than the first one we looked at, it will be easier to get into, it’s in a very sheltered part of the marina, and it has a longer finger pier, so getting on and off should be easier. And it turns out it costs less than the amount he used to figure our monthly boat allowance, so that worked out. I’m relieved - I was really worried about maneuvering into the original slip - it was pretty tight quarters - plus the finger pier might not have reached the boarding opening in the rail. The main disadvantage to the new one, tho, is its distance from the heads (bathrooms) and pool, but even that’s not a huge deal. With luck, we’ll move in by the end of the month. Meanwhile, I’m waiting to hear that it’s time to come fetch Toby. Hoping for a non-cranky day. Happy Tuesday!! ---

I happen to think files are easier to navigate in Explorer than in Finder. When I connect an extra monitor, I have to fiddle with System Preferences to keep the bottom app bar in one place. I was given 6 different UI systems to upgrade to, and I had no idea which one to pick until I asked my teammates. It’s mainly little things I have to get used to doing differently. ---

Good morning everyone. Well, it was a real gully washer here yesterday. Over two inches of rain in less than 24 hours. It’s caused flooding over roadways, mudslides, and avalanche danger up in the mountains. The two main passes over the mountains were closed yesterday and opened up late in the day. We are due for more rain all this week, but the atmospheric river should let up some. I got the dumpster scheduled. They’ll drop it on Friday and pick it up Monday. I am practically squeeing with glee at how much crap I can get rid of and looking forward to it. It’s going to be pretty exhausting work loading that thing up, but all the stuff will be GONE. I am so excited! Y’all must think I’m a weirdo. I have postponed my trip to Wenatchee to next week. I just have too much work to get done otherwise to squeeze that in. I’ll leave around noon or one on Tuesday and return Thursday night. Time for another cup of coffee and to read up on the news. ---

**sunny** , Nelson is a good little caretaker. ❤ **baker** , Tamiflu is prescription, and a pricey one at that: $70 after insurance for a 5 day course. That said, I’m beginning to feel a little better than yesterday. It’s supposed to lessen the symptoms and shorten the duration. I got a little less-broken sleep last night (thanks good cough syrup) and even managed a couple of hours not sitting up to do so. I may actually finish folding unders today between naps (and yes, there will be naps). Stay safe and healthy y’all! ---

I haven’t had a good hotdog in a long time, but I tend to compromise and put both ketchup and mustard on it (and occasionally pickles and cheese)… Quiet this morning, the roof next door is apparently done and it’s getting to 65F today and 72F tomorrow according to the weather wizards. Will head off to the gym here shortly to work up an appetite for the early-day meal. Then maybe take some time to fool around with my new phone again–it’s sat neglected for several days now. Ok, need to be about the day. All y’all have a good one. ---

Man, did I ever need the extra rest. Felt so much better this morning! So much better, in fact, that I got a bit of “get shit done” wherewithal, and so far have: … scooped _both_ litter boxes, taken out a buncha trash, fed **Charm** and refilled **Pretzel** ’s water bowl, and put out a fresh suet cake for the birdies. The very idea!!! Toby has been crashed in his swing, so I’ve been able to do a few chores and read a bit. As much as he drank, he’s probably going to be floating when he awakes. Kids! 🙄 🤣 He’s outgrowing his clothes so fast - I’ll need to make another trek to the thrift store soon. Except his other grandmother is a shopaholic who buys both kids new stuff all the time. So maybe I’ll just save my dollar-per-onesie contributions. 😁 **FCD** is in the shop futzing with something. After the kid goes home, I’ll go out and continue with the moving of the shelves. I also found a chicken-mushroom-spinach recipe that doesn’t use cream of mushroom soup and it sounds pretty good, so I think supper has been decided. While I was feeding Toby, that idiot Taz walked across my end table and dumped a nearly full glass of lemonade on the floor. Dammit. So **FCD** got the babby, and three dish towels later, I had to pull out the carpet cleaner before things got gross. Not sure when I can move my recliner and end table back in position - it’s so arid in here, the carpet should dry quickly. One more hour then I can turn the kid over to his mom. He’s watching Baby Einstein again - I had a diaper to rinse and a carpet cleaner to empty and clean. I’m kinda hoping he’ll fall asleep again. We shall see.
