Nonsense. I have no idea what National Geographic was on about. The last big hoard I can think of was the Staffordshire hoard. Found in July 2009 the land owner and the finder split [£3.28 million](http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/8380382.stm)between them. Hardly a pittance.
