> Something about the wonders of the world I give to you, happiness cannot be bought and is unattainable…I have no idea what the middle two lines mean.

It’s not trivial, but I’ll try:

_The wonders of the world are given to you
Luck is not for sale, desire[sup]_[/sup] remains unattained
Prize competitions
Are enticing insatiable
No sympathy for the majority
\*

[sup]\*[/sup] You know, “Sehnsucht” is on of _these_ German words you cannot translate verbatim into English. Another reading would be _longing_.

Missed the edit window:

The fourth line should be:

_Are enticing insatiab **ly** _

(the adverbial form of English adjectives sometimes is a stumbling block for German speakers, at least for me)

Ah, excellent! And here I’d had nothing for my husband for Valentine’s day. I just sent him the link, so I’m done with one more holiday for one more year. Thanks!

The announcer/host at the beginning of this video bears a striking resemblance to [Craig Ferguson](http://www.google.com/images?q=craig+ferguson&hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=LTU&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&prmd=ivnsulo&source=lnms&tbs=isch:1&ei=pMtZTYTRGIH68AbJhaXeBg&sa=X&oi=mode_link&ct=mode&cd=2&sqi=2&ved=0CBMQ_AUoAQ&biw=1024&bih=580). It’s weird, unsettling, and uncanny, just like Craig.

> Just so everyone knows… that song was originally recorded in English, then translated for the German “Disko” market. Even Hassellhoff knows you have to divide and conquer Germany.
>
> … Just like all of the “German Invasion” Pop of the eighties (Nena, Falco, Schilling) was originally recorded in German, then translated for the American Market.

Na, I was wrong… Sweetest Ass was originally recorded in German, then translated into English, Spanish, French, Czech, Dutch, and Estonian. I was hoping Kyla would set me straight. Spank me a little.

And yet more strangely, the Host in this video with the Haarigehundpuppe looks like [Will Ferrell](http://www.google.com/images?hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=Rj9&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&q=will+ferrell&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&biw=1024&bih=580)…
