Oh, yeah, I have that dream: digusting overflowing toilets, lots of them, full of fecal matter and used tampons (UGH!), for some reason always in endless labyrinthine locker rooms that are full of other women. Usually, it’s a school locker room and I’m late for gym class. Sometimes there’s a charming crossover with the _Oh crap, I just remembered that I’m in this phys ed class this semeseter and it’s graded on attendance and I cannot remember how many times I’ve actually showed up for class (if I have at all)_ dream. In the dream, I typically find a cluster of not-disgusting toilets, but they don’t have stalls, they’re just out in the open, and there are a lot of people around. I keep looking, and find only toilets in stalls that are in unusuable condition. Give up and try to backtrack my way to the exposed, but non-overflowing toilets. Somtimes I find them use them. Nobody really pays any attention to me, but I still find it embarassing. Most of the time, I just can’t find them again. Just stall after stall of disgusting toilets in an a locker room that goes on forever. I usually don’t wake up needing to pee, or anything, so I assume that the causes are purely psychological. ---

I’ve had “unusable” but not “dirty” toilet dreams. Mostly when I was a kid, though. I remember one where the toilet was giant - like 20 feet high or something and there was NO WAY I’d be able to get to it. Then I saw a door off to the side that said “bathroom” or something on it so I ran up to it and it was really small. Like way too small for me to fit through. I could see the normal-sized toilet on the other side and everything - excruciating! ---

I haven’t had the disgusting bathroom dream, but I’ve had the stuck in a labyrinth and can’t find a bathroom _anywhere._ Horrible! I always wake up having to pee terribly. ---

I’m a male, and I’ve never had a disgusting toilet dream… Perhaps because I’m male. Or perhaps because in my household, I’m apparently the one who finds the toilets clean and leaves them disgusting. At least, that’s what I’m constantly hearing from Mrs. bughunter. (Now I have had dreams where I need to go, but all the toilets are out in the open, in public areas. And I’ve used them anyway. Or that I’ve been accused of using a public toilet for, ahem… self gratification. But never any dreams including any apprehension about the state of cleanliness of the toilet.) ---

I have a variant of this where I desperately need a loo and can’t find one! Then I wake up and realise that I really do need to go, so I guess it’s just my bladder making its needs known. ---

I actually had this dream the night before last! Usually I’m in a public place like a locker room, or at someone else’s house and the toilets are all out in the open, and when I happen to find one that is somewhat hidden, it’s really disgusting. Like others have mentioned, I usually wake up from these dreams and head straight to the bathroom to pee. ---

The first time I saw the thread, I thought, “heh, horrible toilet dreams. That must totally be a dumb girl thing…” Then I realized that , :o , I have in fact had recurring bad toilet dreams. Not anytime recently, though. Usually the dream is in a large public bathroom, and I mean large as in everywhere you go there are more stalls. It actually looks rather like a hall of mirrors, but instead of a reflection, there are more toilets leading off in unlikely directions. There is dirty poo-water all over the floor, the toilets are brown and crusty and usually un-flushed from the previous user. A sense of foreboding fills me as I realize that, in fact, I will have to sit on one of these crappy crappers at one point. Hastily, I search for an adequate john (hey, band name) but to no avail. ☹ I have never heard of anybody else having this dream before (though, I cant think it would have come up in everyday conversation), and it seems somewhat common judging from the replies to this thread. The question now is why? ---

I have the “run to the potty and pee and pee and pee with no relief” dreams once in a while. Once, when I was _very_ pregnant, I dreamed that I’d gone to Walmart and, as usual, had to go to the bathroom before all else. I waddled my way to the _very back_ of the store, pinching it back with every step. When I finally got to the restroom–_ **IT WAS CLOSED** _ because it was Sunday! :eek:!! Not only that, there were actually _hours of operation_ posted on the door! Even in my dream, I was flabbergasted. But the salesperson took pity on me and opened it up and the whole place was a disaster area–floor tiles ripped up, commodes sunk down into the ground and all wobbly–the whole thing was just surreal!! And, of course, when I woke up, I had to speed-waddle to the bathroom!! And if you couldn’t guess from the above paragraph–I am definitely female! ---
