# Horrific MMA injury (little blood, you are warned)

I just read this [story](http://mmajunkie.com/2016/07/cristiane-justino-posts-graphic-picture-of-cyborg-santos-fractured-skull-post-bellator-158-says-gofundme-coming) about ‘Cyborg’ Santos taking a knee to the head.

I wouldn’t have thought that a knee could do that to a skull. I wonder what sort of long term damage will result? TBH, I am amazed he was able to function at all. I doubt I could if I saw my head caved in like that.

I don’t even want to think about the damage he actually DID sustain. That’s a cool indentation, though.

Note: EMS has really jaded me with regard to carnage (for lack of a better term). I don’t intend to minimize his injuries, though. Emts and paramedics tend to swap stories, and those stories would disgust a lot of people. We have a morbid fascination with that stuff. It’s the same fascination that made me decide to go into my mother’s house when I learned she’d died. My brother found her, and EMS and the coroner were already present upon my arrival. There was no need to go see her on the floor, but I had to see for myself.
