You people have let me down. You’re not buying enough Twinkies and cupcakes. Because of your failure in this regard, Hostess Brands has [filed](http://www.washingtonpost.com/national/twinkies-maker-hostess-brands-files-for-ch-11-bankruptcy-protection/2012/01/11/gIQA2YeYqP_story.html) for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. How can this be? This company is an icon, and now we have to worry about Sara Lee, Little Debbie, or some Bimbo getting their hands on our Ding-Dongs. Get out there and buy some Wonder bread. ---

I have this theory that Snowballs were created as a bar bet to determine just how much ghastly nonsense the American people could be persuaded to swallow, like Scientology, or Carrot Top. But now that I’m addicted, I have to get my pink coconut _somewhere_. The article says that they owe nearly a billion dollars in pension liabilities, which surprises me a bit. I would have thought that their workers would tend to die young. ---

This is just so wrong on so many levels. How could they go bankrupt? Pension liabilities? More over-promising while underfunding by an American company, eh? Blaming it on healthier eating? Damn it man, just roll out some fruit hohos! Give me a hoho with cherry filling and dark chocolate. I’ll be all over them despite my diabetes. ---

I’m wondering why on Earth a company like Hostess could possibly get in over its head on legacy pension benefits? Did a bread and cake company really need to offer exorbitant pension benefits for rudimentary production line jobs? 😕 ---

I live a few blocks from a Hostess outlet store and I tell ya, I’m carryin’ at least 3 lazy bastards who aren’t pullin’ their weight, so to speak. I’m in that mofo at least once a week and I drop some serious coin. I’m talkin’ Wonder bread, Beefsteak rye, Natures Pride (the multigrain bread is the bomb), Twinkies, HoHos, Fruit pies, etc.; I’m all over that shit! ---

Huh. There’s a Hostess outlet down the street from me as well. Most of the activity I see there is at night, when the local kids go dumpster-diving. I wish I were kidding. ---
