Now how are we going to survive the Apocalypse without Twinkies? I, too, like Snoballs but only once in a great while. It’s just too much sweetness. Hoho’s and DingDongs are better for everyday. Also, I really need to get my hands on some Chocodiles. ---

I like Wonder Bread with breakfast. Hard to beat it for toast with butter & jelly. Also the preferred bread for peanut butter & jelly sandwiches. I buy wheat bread for ham and other cold cut sandwiches. But Wonder will always remind me of my childhood. I feel bad for all the Hostess bakery’s around the country. Bread is one of the few things that is still manufactured locally. Its a bad time to put people out of work. ---

Personally Hostess products are about the last thing I’d ever buy, mainly because I was raised on Tasty-Kakes :D. Hostess stuff as just never tasted good to me. Though I do admit we often buy the Wonder “whole grain white” because the kids have, despite our best efforts, resisted developing a fondness for _good_ bread and the wgw stuff at least gets _some_ fiber into 'em. ---

Although I don’t eat snack cakes, I’ve also noticed Little Debbie has been taking up more space on store shelves. ---

I should be sad, but since my wife perfected her homemade Twinkie recipe last year, I just can’t be bothered. Plus she makes some mean whoopie pies, which can be coated in chocolate to resemble DingDongs from a higher plane of existence. ---

Ah, man. Maybe Hostess could start throwing fiber in all of their products. Grate some beets into their chocolate cupcakes, and mix some applesauce in their Ho Hos. Don’t fuck with the Twinkies, though. Twinkies are one of my favorite guilty pleasures. I periodically scarf them down, savoring the sponge cake, and the sweet, unidentifiable goodness of the filling. ---

I could never figure out how these guys made any money because the prices of pre-packaged dessert cakes in general are outrageous. For the price of a pack of Ding-dongs I could purchase a greater quantity of fresh baked pastries. I have similar doubts about things like canned corned beef and spam. I actually don’t mind the taste of them (and the dessert cakes) but they seem really expensive compared to just buying actual fresh meat. So why would I buy the pre-packaged stuff? Do they cater exclusively to places like convenience stores where there is no refrigeration? ---

People don’t buy it because they want to eat meat; they buy it because they specifically want to eat **Spam®**. There are a lot of ex-military guys from the olden wars who developed a taste for it. (I understand it is also popular in Hawaii.) My dad used to feed it to us when we were kids. ---

Wonder Bread tastes like cotton wool-which is to say, like nothing, And Twinkys-when you unwrap one, you get a blast of chemical odor (like burning plastic)-God knows what chemicals are in these things. I haven’t partaken of either in years. ---
