Hostess files for bankruptcy

I’m not surprised…who can pay a mortgage on a hostesses’ pay? Those chicks don’t make shit!

You guys can keep your Snowballs, just be sure and save the Chocolate Pudding Pies for me. I thought they had stopped making them forever until I finally found some at Walgreens today. Hallelujah!

You’re supposed to let them “breathe” a little while, like a fine red wine.

I went to Jewel (a grocery store) after reading this and looked the price of Hostess. The individual twinkies, cupcakes, ding dongs, were $1.75

That’s way too much, especially since the 10 pack (or 8 pack for Suzi Q) were on sale for $2.50

I see the generic versions for these cakes for 75¢

But is hostess really in trouble? Or is bankruptcy just a tool being used?

They say they need to deal with high labor costs, so the bankruptcy is apparently just a tool. OTOH, this is the third time they’ve gone bankrupt, so maybe we shouldn’t discount the idea that it’s just a badly-run company.

WTF? How can Hostess be going broke when Americans are getting fatter* by the year?

  • Not hatin’, just sayin’. I’m fat too. Probably fatter than you. Please don’t Pit me kthx!

Because people prefer Little Debbie – which make Hostess seem like gourmet fare.

I still love their cupcakes and Suzy Qs.

How about a little musical interlude to ease the tension.

The Ding Dong Song

okay , folks, let’s get our priorities straight here:
48 posts, lots of references to Twinkies and Snoballs, but nobody has yet sung the praises of the classic Hostess CupCakes…
hmmm…good… chocolate, sweet white filling, great icing…the perfect between meals snack!!!
the rest of Hostess’s products are mediocre, and competitors make similar stuff.
But cup cakes are a special goodness of their own.

They don’t hold a candle to the powdered doughnuts.

No, THIS is the ding dong song.

There are worse things in life than having some bimbo with her hands on your Ding-Dong.

Without hostess pies to fool or tame the super villains, how can our heroes get out of this one?
