Your sociological model does not take into account the “reject pile” – the people who did not manage to find a mate to reproduce with.

True, ugly people do marry ugly people though.

Rejection could be due to several factors.

personality ( psycho ? )  
fussy ( i want someone sexy but i am not sexy , sob sob ).
