# Hot day, not much water to put on dog: which best parts of his body to cool him?

My late sister, a small-animal veterinarian, working out of Alaska. You might know her as **AK Dog Doc**. I asked this specific question of her some years ago, and what I posted is almost verbatim from her reply. Considering that she worked on sled dogs a LOT - Some of her cleints were people like Jeff King and Dee Dee Jonroe - She might have gained some body of knowledge there.

This may not be sufficient for you, though - Because, after 17 years of service in Wasilla, she suddenly passed away a few years ago, so is no longer available to consult.

1. Under the neck–\> Jugular artery
2. Under inside upper each thigh: Femoral arteries
