You may be interested to learn that ice cream is often served in SE Asia - in hot dog buns. That’s right, I know it sounds odd, but it’s not a bad idea really. They use a melon baller to scoop the ice cream, so you get small scoops. It’s freaking hot there and the bun does an admirable job of catching any melt. Plus they don’t add any flavour, and insulates from the heat of your hand better than a cone does. Brilliant for children. Just thought you might like to know another creative use for left over hot dog buns. ---

I’ve come up with a creative solution to the problem of the number of hot dogs not equalling the number of buns. It need not ever be a problem again. It also solves another one of life’s culinary dilemmas: That most hot dogs suck. I buy them from the deli. ---

I’m in Arizona and typically buy [Bar S franks](http://www.bar-s.com/bar-s-franks.html). They’re a nationwide supplier. In fact, they claim to be the nation’s #1 hot dog supplier. They come 8 to a 12 oz. package and are usually about a buck a pack. They’re pretty ubiquitous here. They seem to be in every supermarket. I see you’re in Louisiana. Their [site](http://www.bar-s.com/bar-s-where-to-find-louisiana.html) lists a ton of stores that carry them in your state. ---

Did anyone suggest grilling the dogs, cutrting them up and adding them to a pot of baked beans, and then serving them over the buns as a sort of open-faced sandwich? It could just work in a situation like this. (PS - add some bacon. Bacon is nature’s most perfect food.) ---
