I watched Hot Fuzz for the second time last night. There is a moment in it which to me rivals the funniest ever Only Fools and Horses moment where Del-Boy falls through the bar. It’s the bit where Nicholas (knicker-less) Angel is slightly drunk. Holding two pints he leans against the Bar with an air of ultimate cool, until his elbow slips and causes his arm to launch the contents of one of the pints in the air. The fact that it was a mishap when someone is trying to be cool makes it all the funnier. The second funny moment in that film for me is when they are eating ice cream and they get a call on the scanner, a bit of dialogue ensues and then in a rush his partner rams as much of the icecream in his mouth as possible and then AWWWAHH! instant brain-freeze!! Damnit I’ve got to this point in the post and forgotten what 3 was. Youd think it can’t have been that funny if I’ve forgotten it but my brain can do things like that. ---

I thought it had one funny part, the bit between the opening credits and the closing credits. ---

I could never point to one single funny moment in **Hot Fuzz**. I was laughing at almost every second. But there are a few things that will always be funny, even if I watch the movie 100 times (and I’m well on my way. I’ve seen it 16 now). Andy: Oh, cuz we all sell apples around here, don’t we? Danny: Your dad sells apples, Andy. Andy: And raspberries. Nicholas’ face as he watches the production of **Romeo and Juliet**. Andy stepping back into the frame right before the scene ends outside “the refrigerator magnet’s” house. Doris: I don’t know, I like a bit of a midnight gobble. Walker: Cock. Danny: By the power of gray skull! Nicholas: I won’t deny it was a non-stop-adrenalin-charged-thrill-ride, but there’s no way you can perpetuate that much destruction without incurring a considerable amount of paperwork. ---

The part that always has me in hysterics is where he takes the call from “Mr. P. I. Staker” - “P.I. Staker…PISS TAKER! You’ve got to try harder than THAT!” and then the jump cut to, “I’m sorry, Mr. Staker.” ---

Spooky, just finished watching it for the first time… …the Crocodile Dundee moment, throwing the can at the shoplifter, had me laughing out loud, but nobody else got it. Danny: “He’s not Judge Judy and executioner!” The way he runs off with the monkey in the rain. For some reason Danny’s little hand gesture when they’re calling the swan always amuses me, the way he waves his hand. And one of the parts that always makes me smile and made me feel a rush when I saw it: They’ve corned Frank Butterman, the insane chief, and they’re about to arrest him. He lifts his six-guns and shoots out the chandelier. As it falls, sparks flying we see Frank’s face, and he roars like a lion and escapes. It was just so awesome. ---

I laughed out loud at a joke with _ **no words** _. Timothy Dalton standing there in his office smiling…and over his shoulder you can see his portait and the two smiles are exactly the same! Then again, there’s the evil townies having a meeting in their cloaks and hoods, and\* **everyone has a flashlight to put under their chin and make them look scary!** \* ---

When he comes across the human statute in the dungeon was pretty hysterical. Watching the DVD, at the beginning, when Simon Peg is ‘stabbed by a man dressed as Father Christmas’, Father Christmas is played by Peter Jackson.
