I’m not sure but it’s anywhere from a 3 to a 7. I get slightly below the average amount of getting hitting on/asked out than I would expect, but it actually _decreases_ once they get to know me. So what little interest in girls I get has to come from my looks rather than my personality. Which isn’t to say I don’t have a good personality, it’s just not sexy. ---

Flattery. Thank you! But I was just saying I’m not “petite” by any definition I’ve heard of, and don’t have the height or build to be one of those tiny, adorable women, which is more than fine by me. Anyway, you’ve reminded me that I really need to update that photo. It’s old and I barely even recognize myself when I look at it. ---

I’m pretty. I often get approached in grocery stores, stop lights, etc. Now that I’m older, I’m more the MILF type. I have a smokin’ bod for my age. At work, I am pencil skirts and button downs conservative, but really I am a tatted up freak. It can be fun to be noticed for what I look like, but it’s all superficial. I dont take any of it seriously. What I find attractive has little to do with a certain physical type and more to do with an indescribable energy. I have been swept off my feet by people, and friends will say they just don’t get it. Sounds stupidly cliche, but “hot” cannot be attributed to a specific set of physical attributes. Not for me, anyway. ---

I think it’s interesting that what a lot of people here are saying is being fat equates to being ugly. Wonder what NAAFA and other people of the like would have to say about that. ---

I gave myself a 7, I think that I rated an 8 when I was a bit younger. And FWIW, I’m in agreement with everyone on **Jragon**. You should get some counseling, you seem to have some some ‘issues’. Dude, you’re not _ **that** _ bad lookin’ of a guy, IMHO. 🙂 ---

Male here. I consider myself better than average-looking, and still get approached, so I’ll give myself an 8. I’m obsessive about my appearance, skin, hair, and teeth, and have enough products to rival most women’s bathroom counters. I have a daily exercise regimen which, although a killer, allows me to maintain the muscle tone I had naturally when I was much younger. I’m in my 50s now, have always looked younger than my age and, after my hair transplants, [which you can read about here](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=657548), can easily pass for someone in his early 40s. I do quite a bit of public speaking for pitches and client programs so it is critical for my business that I look my best. I also have the multiracial thing going which, in my case, helps, IMO. I’ll think about exhibiting some false modesty after I’m dead. ---

I was extremely awkward- and goofy-looking in my teens. But in my 30s, I was told by more than one person that I looked like Harrison Ford. (A young Ford, not like he looks now.) I could sort of see it, but the resemblance went away. Now I think I’m just your average-looking middle-aged guy. This propensity to look like a celebrity in certain age periods may be inherited. I swear toward the end of his life, my father was looking like Jack Lemmon in the latter’s later years. ---

I get that 10 = Brad Pitt and 1 = Quasimodo, but what does a 5 look like? I was pretty universally considered to be a “10” from ages 12-28. But now I’m vastly overweight (200+) and usually exhausted, so where I fit on the scale depends upon how much the individual counts off for excess weight. The funny thing is, I _feel_ more attractive now than I did then. So take heart, JRagon, you’re not the only one who sees him/herself strangely. LOL!
