The peppers in question are indeed Chilacas, or as they are called here, Pasillas. Found some in the store that were identical and that is what they are. I pulled a small one off the plant and ate it. Great flavor, absolutely zero heat.

The pics on the sites didn’t do the surface texture justice. Thanks for the help folks!
