Hot Sauce poll!

I’ve not had trouble finding El Yuc in Chicagoland grocery stores (Jewel, Dominicks). I hate to think you’re going without spiciness between trips to Mexico.

I’m getting fond of Try Me: Tiger Sauce with its Worcester Sauce and Chilli taste.

Obligatory Pratchett quote:

“Of course, my uncle used to swear at Wow-Wow Sauce,” [Ridcully] added.
“You mean swear by, surely?” said the Lecturer in Recent Runes.
“Possibly both,” said Ridcully. “I know he once drank a whole bottle of it as a hangover cure and it certainly seemed to cure him. He looked very peaceful when they came to lay him out.”

Another vote for Sriracha here. Good stuff.

I’m been generally unimpressed by any Mexican hot sauces I’ve tasted, although the Bufalo Chipotle is pretty good, if somewhat vinegary. I’ve got a bottle of another Bufalo chili sauce that’s been lurking in the 'fridge for months. It’s not terribly exciting.

Dave’s Insanity is quite good, though I would avoid 1) Eating a whole teaspoon in one go, and 2) sticking some in your eye, things a mate of mine has done - with regrets, in each case. Dave’s Insanity salsa is also … interesting, and a good way to develop acute respiratory distress. Endorphin Rush was another old fave of mine, in the extreme pain stakes.

Frank’s Red Hot, Tabasco and even Texas Pete are good standards, and Tabasco Green has a very nice flavour.

In the UK I used to eat stacks of this jamaican stuff - forget the name, it comes in a square cross-section bottle … Google … Google … ENCONA! Yeah!

Looks like I’ll have to get hold of some Cholula, based on this thread…

Matouk’s (flavourful, made with Scotch bonnet peppers)
Sriracha
Maggi Hot Chili Ketchup

I can’t stand Cholula…I don’t find it spicy at all.

+1

So I take it no one here knows the products from Pain Is Good that I mentioned above? What a pity. It really is good stuff once you get over the scorch factor. And the website is clever.

Oh well.

Okay, my two current favorites are:

BW3 (a chicken wing chain) sauce(s) (they have several flavors, ranging up to the very hot Blazin’ sauce, but also including some really savory, medium-spicy sauces like Spicy Garlic and Southwestern):

and

Hoboken Eddie’s Hot Sauce

incredibly good taste.
