Oh man, the weekends. I spent so long working right through 'em, I forgot what life is about. Went to a cabaret show last night and hooked up with some old friends who left Houston 15 years ago. They’re in town for the show. It was a great reunion, and a fall-down-crying beautiful woman bought my ticket. So I owe her. Yes. I’ve got things - lots of things - that I _must_ attend to. Soon. But they’ll have to wait just a day. I’m fixing to roll out to Austin. A couple or so hours of bug-smashin’ and then it’s la-la-land until late tomorrow. If you’re reading this ~2:30 (CST), I’ll be rolling by La Grange (_They gotta lotta nice girls…_), then it’s swing around Smithville and around 3:20 I’ll be hitting the redlight in Bastrop. Staind and Frank Zappa are going with me. If you’re reading this ~~4:00, greetings from la-la-land. So, what are y’all doin’ for the weekend? Have a good time! ---

Will you stop in Elgin to buy sausage?? The jalapeno kind?? And then eat it and tell me how good it is because I can’t have it anymore?? I miss Austin. And Taylor (Loue Mueller’s BBQ) And Lockhart (Take your pick, Black’s or either of the other 2.) And even Dripping Springs. (Salt Lick) I’m gonna go get me a sammich. Don’t talk about Austin, because it makes me want BBQ. ---

Geez, ' **Nerd** , sorry you had to work, but as noted, I’ve been there. And **DD** , no, I didn’t get to Elgin, but I had breakfast at Cisco’s. Almost as good. Salt Lick _is_ good - we had a BatDope gathering there last summer. While it was a great party last night, which I’ll not go on about, part of the fun was just blasting down a hot Texas highway in the company of my fellow RICO speeders and my portable friends (the _13th Floor Elevators_, _Creed_ - a new fave - and _Van Halen_ also came along). So, ehh, maybe I _am_ given to shallow pursuits. _Nobody_ else had any _fun_ this weekend? ---
