Hotter: Playboy Playmates or Penthouse Pets

70s and 80s either, though probably I’m more on the side of Penthouse. Anything post-80s, however, was a disaster.

I always thought Playboy did a better job of picking the attractive from their set. I’m not usually a blonde bimbo lover, but those girls often worked.

Still, give me the women I run into in real life over these people any day.

Back in the day* I spilled way more DNA to Penthouse than to Playboy, so the Pets. Plus, they’re nastier (at least judging from the layouts), so that = win.

*to be interpreted as “before the internet”.

One female zombie wouldn’t behave
She say she want me for a slave
In the one hand she’s holding a quart of wine (Whoa)
In the other she’s pointin’ that she’ll be mine
Now believe me folks, yes I had to run (Why?)
Husband of a zombie ain’t no fun (No nice!)
I says “Oh, no my turtle dove”
“That old bag of bones I cannot love”

When I was younger, I would have said Playboy. I haven’t looked at either in a long time, but I’m pretty sure I would now prefer the variety of looks in Penthouse, instead of the Barbie sameness of all the Playboy models.

Wait–people are still publishing these magazines, and people are buying them?

Is the Internet down, or have I traveled back in time to the 1990’s? We’ll see if this post goes through …

What’s with all these ‘others’ not detailing their pick?

One more strike against Penthouse for me is that the centerfolds are all porn stars. I don’t remember it always being that way.

Was it?

Playboy. Penthouse was just too graphic. If I wanted to study gynecology, I’d read Penthouse.

Once upon a time, I had a Playboy subscription for about 6-8 years. It’s been about 10 years since then. Now they’re too damned Plastic Blonde for my tastes. Haven’t seen a Penthouse in probably 20 years.

I should probably vote ‘other’.

I never liked the fuzzy, out of focus, fake “art” style photography in Penthouse. Prior to 1990 Playboy had natural, girl next door types and some of the best photographers in the modeling world. Some of their photographers were with the magazine for over 30 years. Pompeo Posar was one of my favorite photographers. Google, image his name and you’ll see a bunch of his PB Covers.
