How do my fellow Houston area dopers feel about having a HouDope gathering at the end of this month ? My 42nd (groan) birthday is the 29th, and I would like to celebrate it with some of my old ( and hopefully some new ) doper friends. Let me know soon, I will start checking out places if you guys are interested. BTW, the wild Dallas crew seem to have lost our Irishman, the bastids. I hope he shows up before the end of the month. ---

My first reply was brief - first time I’ve been nailed at the office. No biggie; as I typed it I suddenly realized a geologist was standing behind me reading my reply. I’d love to know what he thought it was all about(hmmm, I may have a hearing aid in my future). I noticed over the last few weeks that we have some new members in Houston. ---

Ayesha, I’m alive and well. Just haven’t had a chance to post yet. (And I’m stuck with the minutes. ☹ ) Ignatius was formerly JohnnyHarvard. Just abump, and does anyone have any suggestions for this meeting ? I would rather not do a bar because, :😭: I can’t drink anymore :😭:. Y’all can drink all you want to. I know it has to be a place with 'ritas and beer . And hopefully a closer to home for me, cab fare costs lots. Suggestions ? ---

Other suggestions, hmmm? I don’t really know what’s there, not being a resident. However, I like the idea of a restaurant, that also serves alcohol for those who imbibe. Some place with music for atmosphere, that wouldn’t drown out the conversations. Chelsea Street Pub might be a nice place, however it would depend on when we went there\, as the live bands tend to be _really_ loud, at least in SA. I’m open to other suggestions. Keep in mind, I’m leaving on the 12th for my trip to see VB and fam. So, don’t know how much time I’ll have to hop on here and post. If you don’t hear from me on here, somebody please email me with details, ok? I’ll check in as I can before we leave.
