I thought I recognized him! But I didn’t know why. Thank you, **StGermain**!

He’s all growed up, but Tamblyn still looks pretty much the same. Odd, that.

I fell asleep. \<blush\> Did House actually go through with it? He’s married?

(You know, as counterweight to all you people mad at Cuddy: I think she should be thanking God she dumped him. House is less mature than your average 4 year old. And, of course, way, way nastier to those around him.)

The spouse and I spent the entire episode going, “We know we’ve seen him _somewhere_! He looks \*so \*familiar!” After it was over I looked it up and was very pleasantly surprised to see who it was. We used to love _Joan of Arcadia_.

I’m not loving all the cheery, larger than life House antics the monster truck, Hefner penthouse lifestyle, mail-order marriage to charming goddess, Segway, etc. I think a humorless downward spiral into drug addicted bitter hopelessness would be much more interesting. 🙂

I think he looks like [Quagmire](http://cheezburger.com/killomaster/lolz/View/2182435584).

I think the theme of this episode is “Genius breeds anhedonia”, which is a semi-rehash from the episode where the genius took stuff to dumb himself down so he could enjoy life. (and also the last episode)

House is now married to a piping hot, fun, multi-talented, non-judgmental ideal mate who is into him, is motivated not to leave him and who looks like a younger, hotter version of Cuddy.

He also has a great work situation, where he gets to boss around his team, solve the medical puzzles he craves and nobody is busting him for openly popping Vicodin.

For any other man, the fates would have smiled upon ye and you’d be dancing off to happily ever after. But House’s anhedonic brain denies him any joy from this. The guy is nuckin’ futs.

OK, how in the hell did the genetic Parkinson’s DNA test get entered into the FBI’s DNA database? Isn’t that an enormous privacy violation, since he wasn’t even considered a criminal at that point? That just seemed really false to me.

And one minor thing that surprised me: When House shoots Taub with the helicopter bullets, he says “Negative reinforcement.” That’s actually the exact opposite of what he did - negative reinforcement is when you stop the negative condition to reinforce the behavior. No way House wouldn’t know that.

yep - I found the ep gob-smackingly ridiculous as a result. When he started flying the helicopters and no action was taken? Please.

And the beyond-hot instantly-appearing Russian bride\* who does his bidding? Again, not even an attempt at weaving this in as a natural feel - it fits the plot, she’s dropped in and there you go…

Phoning it in, AFAIAC…

\*Ah - that explains why she looked familiar, and, uh, hot: [Karolina Wydra](http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_Jzrrvz1_Ur0/S4dc-zXiX4I/AAAAAAAAEPM/Qwb2OyBprLc/s1600/krystina.png&imgrefurl=http://123nonstop.com/pictures-Wydra,_Karolina&usg=__EB00ZxnKHeJYw58qCc6vKDHv9CM=&h=213&w=466&sz=98&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=VrBdbYg9lXgXmM:&tbnh=89&tbnw=195&ei=WQWJTfDYL8TIgQeby43IDQ&prev=/images%3Fq%3DKarolina%2BWydra%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff%26rlz%3D1T4GGLL_enUS388US389%26biw%3D994%26bih%3D796%26tbs%3Disch:1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=565&vpy=288&dur=3229&hovh=152&hovw=332&tx=189&ty=96&oei=WQWJTfDYL8TIgQeby43IDQ&page=1&ndsp=21&ved=1t:429,r:9,s:0), the model from some car commercial with a Euro soundtrack where she subtly tucks her hair behind her ear as it drives by to signal her interest…

My WAG is that it’s the other way around. The FBI has the murderer’s DNA on file, and tells all DNA testing labs that if they ever run across it they need to call and report it ASAP. Either that or all DNA labs send in a DNA fingerprint (or however it works) to the FBI with no real identifying info to be tested for things like this. If a match comes back, the FBI can contact the lab and tell them they need more info on DNA Fingerprint #45443HNG23. Either one of these would prevent patient information from being passed to the FBI until it needed to be as part of a criminal case.

I think he’s regressed. I think he WAS happy being with Cuddy, was feeling real love. I think he saw that his misery of a life was changing for the better. When she ended it, he was so hurt that he went, “OK, I’ll show YOU, I don’t need you to enjoy my life” and started acting out like a bitter little kid, regressing to his old destructive bad habits. Of course he isn’t really enjoying himself. He certainly doesn’t look happy. It’s all noise and vicodin and pranks to numb himself against the hurt. House is too old for that shit, he needs to get his ass back to his therapist. (Not that it’s going to do him much good, but that is what one always offers up - get therapy.)

I didn’t get a chance to watch the episode until tonight, but I realized who he was immediately and kept waiting for he or Masters to say something like, “It’s strange, but I feel like I’ve met you before.” Alas, they didn’t do it.

House needs to stop obsessing over Cuddy. What is so special about Cuddy that House has to have in order to be happy?

That was about as close to an actual physical gut-punch as tv has come for me in a long time. Having Masters telling him he’s a good person and we’re all feeling all, “He’s basically a good guy, just had a rough time, poor kid,” and then POW! Right in the gut. Fade to black.

I think I’m 100% completely over the House/Cuddy show, though. He’s an ass, she’s an ass, they tried it, it didn’t work, move on. Boring.

Meh. They’ve done that before. It was a drag. The hookers and reckless behavior was much more fun and left actual time for PotWs. They might be laying it on a bit thick with the monster truck but it’s basically a return to the first couple seasons where House sent inordinate amounts of time screwing with people.
