The animated one set in a little mountain town somewhere in Denver, Colorado?

Exactly. He’ll be vulnerable and she’ll be so happy he lived  😉

Although the former patient probably had good reason to cap his…side.

I’ve only seen the last few episodes of this program. Does every patient have either absolutely nothing wrong or about 29 different interactive things wrong with them?

It varies. . . but it’s always something that is mistreated for the first 50 minutes of the program. Then House has an inspiration, based on something apparently completely irrelevant and that inspiration leads to the correct diagnosis and the patient is cured before the 9pm/10pm newscast begins.

> Why would Cuddy need fertility treatments and in vitro? She’s just looking for a sperm donor – a turkey baster would work.

I believe that “in vitro” means that the eggs are extracted from her body and the fertilization process occurs in a petri dish (or suchlike). Therefore, she needs to pop out a bunch of eggs to give the process more than one chance to work. This could also result in multiple successful fertilizations, thus the “frozen embryos” that you hear about on other medical dramas from time to time.

Yes, that’s indeed what \*in vitro \* fertilization is. IANAD, but I don’t think it’s necessary to go through such extraordinary measures for a sperm donor fertilization. Assuming Cuddy doesn’t have any fertility issues; that she’s capable of conceiving through normal means, but is just looking for a sperm donor instead.

Didn’t see this episode, but commercials for it that aired on our local radio infuriated my 7 year old daughter. Her name is Katrina, and she’s _sick and tired_ of the phrase “Katrina victims”. With tears streaming down her cheeks, she asked me if the people who bestowed names on hurricanes ever actually considered that little kids who bore the same names might get their feelings hurt by this.

StGermain, you seem to have forgotten House getting to see Cuddy’s very nice backside. That was the best scene.

That puzzled me too. I doubt that the majority of women who use a sperm donor do it by IVF. Perhaps Cuddy is hoping for a litter? Cuddy’s septuplets would sure get in the way of House’s cane…

I honestly don’t remember Cuddy saying she was getting IVF, just that the shots were for fertility treatments. I would imagine that even if you’re just getting regular sperm /turkey baster treatments, you’d want to optimize your chance of getting pregnant by taking fertility drugs.

**Skald** - it was funny, but not germain to the storyline. The funny thing was it was just after Cuddy said “I’m not used to you being professional”. 😃

I just saw it, thanks to the DVR, and it was my impression that she was thanking him for the “You need to pick someone you know. \< pause \> You like.” line. Meaning, it seemed, that she’d finally done just that. And combined with the fact that she said nothing further and the previews for the finale show House punching Wilson, I’d put my money on her having chosen the oncologist.

But hey, I’m just guessin’.

Just think how Gayle Storm or Rubin _Hurricaine_ Carter feel.

Shoot… try having a last name “Payne” and be offered “Payne Killers” by every damn doctor you ever see… or all the commercials offering fast “Payne Relief”…

Then add a first name with the initial A.

yeah… I’m “a pain”… I know it already.

Fortunately my wife, Barbara Ann… chose to “b a payne”… so she’s stuck with it.

Thank you… I’ll be here all week… try the veal.

Now, this episode barely held my attention (mainly because my brain is going in circles over personal stuff of various different flavours and I’m having a hard time vegging out on TV in general – couldn’t even focus properly on _Lost_ last night  ) and it’s entirely possible that I misread it, but…

…I’m with **gigi** as far as pegging House as the sperm donor\*. I know that it isn’t 100% rational – I mean, the thing that got her to change course was House’s demonstration of how dissuasive (and probably congenital) idiosyncracies don’t show up in black-and-white in donor profiles, and it’s not as though he doesn’t have just a _few_ traits that might be seen as less than perfectly desirable… and his change-of-phrase was specifically meant to remove him from consideration… _but_…

She seemed bemused by the length of time House spent swabbing her shapely bottom. She _smiled_. Also, the lengths that House went to out of concern that she make genetic decisions which benefit her and her potential spawn were actually very thoughtful. House was being thoughtful and concerned, and went out of his way to help her, specifically in the context of her family planning situation. So he was actually being (albeit in his own characteristic way) quite touching and likeable, at the very moment the issue of likeability was raised.

(Not to mention that, in a broad sense, Dr. House isn’t genetically shabby at all. If I had those eyes, all should love me and despair.)

\*\* Don’t picture Cuddy pegging House…Don’t picture Cuddy pegging House…Don’t picture Cuddy pegging House…Don’t picture Cuddy pegging House…\*

Oh **Larry** , that certainly is plausible. Even more so over my own, admittedly weak, scenario. But I can’t help think that House being her ‘go to’ man as it were, is just too pat. Plus there’s the whole decking-of-Wilson thing that just _has_ to mean something. Right?

Maybe I should be on painkillers. 😛

I think perhaps I was wrong… there was a news article at aol yesterday about a sperm donor who passed along a rare genetic disease to five children. As far as they know, five families have had children using his sperm: four couples had twins, and one a singleton. Either there’s a real strong disposition in his genetic makeup to produce twins, or the moms were taking fertility drugs like Cuddy.
