# House passes stem cell bill; Bush threatens veto; backers promise override

It suddenly all makes sense: NASA and Human Rights groups are predicting that in 10 years illegal immigrants, as part of a Concert of Powers, will use private firearms found in William Jefferson’s freezer to prevent Iran from supplying embryonic stem cells to the Taliban.

You crack me up **John**.
Seriously, I’m glad (for once) to be on the side of a majority of the American populace in supporting a moral/domestic issue! Embryonic stem cell research is important, cannot yet be supplanted by adult stem cell or de-differentiated stem cell research (although that day may certainly come), and I abhor restrictions on scienctific funding. This bill should become law, but won’t, because its proponents are not going to be able to find the votes to override.
