Former GOP Congresscritter David Jolly of Florida just suggested it wouldn’t surprise him if they come back and McCarthy withdraws and nominates his replacement, likely Steve Scalise. Personally, I think it is a bit early in the process for this to happen but who knows at this point. ---

I think sometimes, lying awake in bed, KM fantasizes that he becomes Speaker, and then some kind of disaster kills Biden and Harris. Presto! There he is on Air Force One, with people calling him Mr. President and lining up to kiss his ass… ---
