I agree that he hasn’t or won’t spank Gaetz. But that’s a different question then whether he could. ---

democrats have no one with which to govern. when they had the majority (same number of votes) they governed, moved legislation, did what needed done. the republicans have a largish group that does not want to govern and burn it down. they can not elect a speaker, they barely can get a vote to adjourn. ---

I just thought of something. Kevin McCarthy has made several concessions to the far right that hasn’t amounted to a lot of support. Is he bound to follow these concessions when he is elected Speaker or could he just “conveniently” forget and fulfill his duties as he sees fit? ---

The GOP is currently arguing over who gets to lead two years of retaliatory committee investigations and vindictive gridlock.
