I think adjourning until Monday may be a dangerous move for McCarthy. Sure, it gives him time to try to tease out that one last vote. But it also sends all of the Representatives back to their home districts, where conservatives may get pummeled for having switched to McCarthy and moderates may get pummeled for agreeing to the rule changes. Any break that lets members rethink their position is a risk. ---

Because McCarthy is dumb. He’s no Pelosi when it comes to counting votes. They probably said something noncommittal and he took that for a yes. My guess, anyway. ---

As much as I disagree with Rosendale’s politics, he’s the only Pub that I think might have the ability to be Speaker. ---
