Okay, the hubby runs the paintball fields on weekends so his ability to watch the **Babypotomus** is in doubt. However, I _might_ have an emergency back up plan… I’ll keep you posted… Color me _Strong_… ---

The Where has been _un_decided. I’ve been out on a scouting mission, and I’m afraid **The Mucky Duck** ain’t gonna cut it. They have live music on Saturdays (2 shows, 8:00 and 10:00) and considering that it’s winter (to us Texans, **Nemo** ) I’m thinking that counting on populating their patio might be unwise (I seem to recall a call for walls). I checked out some other places, and there are alternative venues that will do. I’ll float this tonight and we’ll have to arrive at consensus by, say, Wednesday evening. Alternatives: **The Harp** - Irish pub, no band and no food, but we can have stuff delivered - guess what brand of beer you can get there (OK place - full bar) **The Ale House** - Brit pub - we did it last year a couple of times; full bar, kitchen (pub fare) until midnight **Richmond Arms** - Brit pub - we did it once last year; full bar, kitchen (pub fare) until midnight Any other suggestions are welcome. Remember walls! Primary considerations are room enough to get 10-20 people together where they can all talk (no band) and some kind of access to food and drink. Speaking of walls, we were going to monitor the weather for this Sunday’s proposed redux at **Floyd’s** ; does anybody know what Sunday is supposed to be like? Do we need to start looking for more walls? There are hundreds (perhaps thousands) of bars in Houston, but not that manny that will make for a good Dopefest. If y’all are feelin’ hinky we could always congregate at a world-class dive like **Lola’s** or the **Aquarium Lounge** (it will make you sad) or we could invade _en masse_ a **tranny bar**. There are, of course manny more bars that will do. Suggest or I make a decision in two days. Recognition (Friend or Foe) has been worked out - I stumbled upon the SDMB table sign from last year’s events (I thought it had passed away) - it’s not pristine - it’s been to a few Dopefests - but it’ll work. ---

I spoke with the bartender at the **Palm Beach Club** and described our situation. He told me it was a no go. He said it gets pretty loud after about 9:00 and we’d be lucky to get 4 or 5 of us sitting near each other. If the bartender’s telling me that I don’t have to guess about too much more. So, thanks for the suggestion, **robgruver** (and I do sincerely hope you’ll join us wherever we alight), but that one isn’t going to work. So, we proceed apace?
