And maybe inviting spouses might help put them at ease. Not that MY spousal unit would go, but maybe **jarhubby** or **BunnyHubby** might like to at least get invited. ---

Good point, **drop**. I think he needs to see that the men are all gentlemen and the gals are all ladies, deep down. Not the freaks we see in the pictures! šŸ˜ƒ I can always broach the subject, albeit _gently_. Iā€™ll just keep track of the thread and hopefully itā€™d work out. I really would enjoy spending some quieter time with yā€™all, even though you know I enjoy the loud rowdies the most. ---

A quiet get-together sounds fantastic! I actually would have been there on Saturday if my plans werenā€™t constantly changing and Iā€™d been able to plan my day better. But I would much rather do something quieter anyway. Also, hubby and I are really into board games, and as such have a ton of them (I mean, really, our shelves are overflowing). So if anyone is interested, we could bring Outburst[sub]TM[/sub] or Trivial Pursuit[sub]TM[/sub] or something like that. ---

Iā€™m with **thinks** - I consider myself a ChiDoper too. I think this is a great idea. I remember discussing it at some point last weekendā€¦ and I think that the late September/early October idea is fabulous! I also like the idea of board games. Weā€™ve got some reeeeeally smart people in Chicago ā€“ I want them on my team. ---

Iā€™m all for something that might be a little more low-key, but you all know itā€™s going to be the same group of people, right? Hell, this crowd makes _me_ look shy and retiring. I wouldnā€™t expect everyone to turn into wallflowers because weā€™re not in public. Or are the loud, obnoxious dopers not invited? ---

errrrā€¦good point, porcupine. Well, at least we wonā€™t be in a naturally loud place, trying to be heard over music and other patrons. Hopefully people will calm down on the photo-stunts - no jumping into each otherā€™s laps, for example. Itā€™s up to the shy, quiet Dopers to either make themselves heard for find a quiet corner with other quiet Dopers and talk, easier to do in a living room than in a bar. Iā€™m still up for hosting, loud, quiet, or otherwise. ---

That sounds like a great idea, Mags! Iwill of course prepare some wonderful dish to astound and amaze as I always do šŸ™‚ Re: the high incidence of groping, the pics thinks took of me which make me look like some weird lecher, I was actually a bit of a wallflower at this ChiDope.
