# How about a Yahoo Widgets RSS feed?

I just installed Yahoo Widgets, and they are great. Is it possible to create a widget that shows recent SDMB threads/postings?

I seem to recall that someone was once banned for creating an RSS feed from the SDMB - it hurts the hamsters, apparently.

I’m not aware of anyone who was banned for an RSS feed. Can you think of any more details?

I created an rss feed for [straightdope.com](http://straightdope.com) recently and sent it to the mods. I expect the reader will make a decision concerning it within two years, but not sooner than a year. Seriously.

It was a while back and my memory is poor. Can’t search, for obvious 3-letter reasons. It was a new poster who arrived saying “Hey, look what I made”, and then disappeared immediately. I think someone was bitching about their banning in the Pit, which is how I saw it. Sorry I can’t be more helpful.

We have been testing a feed and someone found it. We had to turn it off.

We hope to get this situation straightened out soon. Since anything involving distribution of Straight Dope material needs Reader permission, we have to make a case and get a decision from the Reader. Other problems have taken precedence and this got pushed to the back burner, but we expect to have this happening sometime after the holidays.
