Certainly not…that’s just my point! Not that we model our behavior after beasts but that our ‘cruel’ farming practices are probably better than those of the beasts of the wilderness.

> Chickens do have nerves and flesh in their beaks, this is why they’re burnt off, not just cut off. The burning prevents the bleeding.

This is incorrect. Chicken beaks are trimmed by cutting; the trimmer is heated to cauterize the wound site. Proper trimming is limited to the non-vascularized portion of the beak. The cauterization is needed to kill the tissue so that painful, sensitive nodular tissue doesn’t grow at the endof the beak.

PETA doesn’t really expect to convert people to veganism; not many, anyway. The real purpose of their campaign is to expose the farming methods that lead to the worst consequences, and get them banned.

FWIW and to try to address the OP freeze branding has become more prevalent than hot branding. I’m not saying a bit of localized frostbite is a cakewalk but probably more human than being burned.

If that were so I could get behind PETA. Unfortunately here is a snippet from one of their campaigns from their own website.

I’d say that they do wish, among other things, for a vegetarian world.
