Crash of a small plane into a jungle mountainside.
Trampled by an elephant.
Kidnapped by the FARC.
Bushmaster bite.
Or probably most likely, a head-on collision with a truck trying to pass on a blind curve in the mountains.

Or possibly all three.
Die?
And that’s still heart failure. No death certificate in modern times has ever listed “old age” as a cause of death.
I’m going to get killed by a falling coconut, I just know it.
That seemed to occur from time to time to people when we lived in Hawaii. I think they make sure to clear the coconuts off the trees in public areas, but still it happens. Oddly, I don’t think I’ve ever heard of it happening over here, but it must.
Heart attack death has always been a sort of dream of mine.
Though none of my recent ancesters have had heart problems and most lived to be a reasonable age.
I’ll keep you posted.
I’ve never ever given this any thought. I have no idea. I can’t even picture it.
The only thing I think about is senility, and I keep hearing how simultaneous interpretation, rapidly switching between 2 languages, is an awesome way to keep the synapses firing well into old age.
Which means that the bod will likely give out first. Wouldn’t that suck eh?
Most of my closest ancestors are relatively long-lived–at least until their 90’s.
I can’t remember who said it, but the quote was “I just want to live long enough to be a burden for my kids.”
I just really, really hope I don’t shuffle off to Alzheimers Playland first.
Cancer runs in my family, and there’s some diabetes too, so I’ve done my best to reduce my risks of both. Therefore I’m probably going to be run over by someone who is senile or texting.
I’m going with heart attack since I just got news last week that my triglyceride level is too high. Also, my maternal grandfather died of a heart attack when he was 70. However, the rest of my grandparents made it to at least their 80’s, so who knows?
The old woman who dwells beneath the great mountain foretells that shall I fall in battle. This the gods themselves have decreed.
All four grandparents died of various cancer, my mother’s had breast cancer twice and a brother had lymphoma.
Pretty good odds that I’ll die from something with -oma at the end of its name.
That, or I’ll be crushed by a crate of expired passwords falling off the shelf in the storage room at work.
So I’ll put you down as other?
Oklahoma?
That’s a fate worse than death.
I picked Accident/misadventure in the poll, mostly because while there’s a little family history of cancer, my driving skills are appalling. I fully expect to be killed on the California freeways. I can only hope I don’t take anyone with me.
For me, I’m guessing cerebral hypoxia.
Suicide, I hope. I get to put my affairs in order, and and choose my method of demise. But first I get to spend all the money I’m not leaving to my partner. Probably a trip around the world, followed by a huge “bon voyage” party.
My maternal grandfather died of a heart attack in his early fifties. My mum had her first heart attack at 42 - and she isn’t even overweight. So it looks like I have sucky heart genes. I make sure to get lots of cardio vascular exercise, but I’m not sure what good that will do if it turns out I have athlerosclerosis like my mum.
