I am confused because ‘‘waking up in a man’s body’’ would be a change of sex, not gender, right? I’ve always perceived gender as a socialized identity based on sex. If I woke up tomorrow with a penis, I’d still identify as female in terms of gender.
That said, I absolutely love being a woman, though I could do without the PMS and higher probability of being a victim of abuse and violent assault. Even given those factors and the various other disadvantages, I wouldn’t change my sex OR my gender. Dressing up is fun. Lace, sexy underwear, ribbons and bows, and pink, and cute things, and being soft–all of that, completely worth it.
Yeah, OK, I’ll give in on that one. I’d be a man for one day, just so I could see how the male orgasm differs in feeling from the female orgasm! Of course, in addition to the guarantee that it’s “just for one day”, I’d also want a guarantee of getting laid!
