# How bad would seeing a animal's dungeon be for a squad of soldiers?

I think the broad point you are missing is that the default position is not “believe anything and everything” until there is evidence _against_ it. That would be ridiculously impractical. The default position should be to believe nothing until there is evidence _for_ it. With that in mind, we don’t need to come up with reasons why we think squad killing giants in Afghanistan don’t exist. It is up to the people making the claim to provide evidence for their existence. It was quite correct to not believe in the existence of the platypus until some convincing evidence was provided.

About 700 years ago a man named William of Ockham pointed out the the more special things you need to add into your story to make it sound plausible (although I don’t believe he ever mentioned stasis pods) the less credible your story becomes.
