Would it make you feel better if I told you I’ve bought at least a third of my movies at flea markets and pawn shops? There are many DVD’s I’ve paid five dollars or less for. ---

Probably about 500 discs, over 400 titles. I used a Mac program called DVDpedia to keep track of my collection. It also looks up the MSRP for each title when entered into the database. According to that, my collection has a retail value of about $8500. ---

So many i haven’t seen. I’d love to buy Family Guy or Soprano’s, but I can’t imagine forking out $40 -$60 for something I’ll watch once or twice maybe. I can rent them for little or get them for free from the library. ---

Let’s see. Including the three Lord of the Rings DVDs, I have three. But the kids have some, maybe a dozen or so – all the Pixar movies, the Harry Potter movies, plus Kiki’s Delivery Service, Spirited Away, and Castle in the Sky (my five year old is quite the Miyazaki fan). And my wife has some classics – Roman Holiday, Singing in the Rain, etc. The collection looks pretty good on the shelf until you look close and see that most of the cases are Game Cube and Playstation games.
