God, that was bad. Maybe it was a competitor to Adidas who made it, that would make more sense. ---

it would have been funnier if they reshot it in a human bar without aliens. i.e. beckham bumping into snoop dog and snoop dog saying “i don’t like you…” then have dr dre behind him grunt. “he doesn’t like you either”. maybe have daft punk be the storm troopers the bartender snitches to… ---

I though it was quite amusing in a laid-back kind of way. And I don’t get the protectiveness over the original Star Wars. The movie was never that great to begin with. ---

Could have been a lot funnier, but I liked it. Snoop with a light saber, yeah! I recognized: Daft Punk, Snoop, Beckham, Noel Gallagher & Jay Baruchel. I had to look up: Ian Brown, Ciara, Franz Beckenbauer, and DJ Neil Armstrong. Were there any others? Honestly, at first I thought Beckenbauer was Larry David. ---

I am outraged that Star Wars is being commercialized. (Commercial was stupid. OTOH, so was the source material) ---

If Adidas thought showing videos of your great-grandmother’s rotting corpse would sell shoes, they would already be showing it during the World Cup. I remember a commercial once using the video of the Tiananmen Square tank demonstrator to sell computers. I think it went along the lines of “Images can change the world, buy our monitors for world peace” or something. Ever since, I’ve always expected advertisers to follow the path of greatest tastelessness and I’ve never been disappointed. ---

I thought it was pretty funny when Jay Baruchel accidentally shoots Greedo in the back and Becks gets up from the table and says, “It wasn’t me.” And of course Snoop Dogg. “He doesn’t like you.” “I don’t like him.” “i don’t like you, either.” “I don’t like you either, fool.” “You want some? Step up!”
