# How can I hide my porn on my computer?

I’m well over 20 myself, and may be at 30. I don’t really want to get my external HD out right now and check though.

or you could keep your porn on some handy removeable media, say a SD card, or maybe an USB powered HDD. When you dont want anyone looking at it, just unplug it. When you want your porn, simply plug it in.

You keep your favorites on hand so that when you want to look at them, you can find them immediately. I’m picky about my porn. I enjoy a rare genre and only a select titles within that genre, so finding good stuff is not as easy as typing a few words into google. I also trade to boost my collection and I need to have the videos I am giving at easy access.

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking. The thought of movies hadn’t really crossed my mind; I was trying to visualise how much porn you’d have on your hands if you had 16 gigs of jpegs.

No, my parents don’t read this board. Also, it’s not so much the having of porn as it is the type of porn I have that requires a porn buddy.
Almost all of my collection is pictures, but I keep the zips to make trading easier.
This outboard USB harddrive sounds fascinating. About how long does it take to transfer a gig between the drive and the computer?

A couple of minutes, depending on how fast it is, and whether you’re using USB or FireWire, etc. Also, you aren’t going to have to move it back and forth every time. You can run it straight from the external drive.

These days designating a ‘porn buddy’ is akin to naming an executor for your estate. In some circles, it is ‘de rigeur’ to designate your porn buddy as (at least)a secondary beneficiary of your life insurance. :eek:
One should not overlook the invaluable services of a porn buddy in the event of an untimely demise. DO IT NOW! Think of the children…

One pretty effective (although quite drastic) way to quite effectively hide a load of files away is to set your machine up as dual-boot with Linux and XP - XP won’t even be able to see the Linux partition (if you use ReiserFS or ext) and with a properly secure login in the Linux installation, getting at your files is going to be beyond the ability of ordinary mortals.
Or you could use one of those ‘live’ versions of Linux that run from a CD, storing anything you want to keep on removable media such as a USB key or a CD/DVD

Heck, with the new DVD formats coming out (Blu-Ray and HD-DVD), the OP will be able to stash his entire collection on a single removable disk, which he can then stash in his Ronco Record Vault.
Just don’t forget the combination: three.
