How close do you live to "the coast"?

About two kilometers from the Red Sea.

The Gulf of Mexico is 6 miles west, Tampa Bay is 7 miles east, and where they meet is 19 miles south. Also 19 miles south of the Anclote River where it turns into a salt marsh. Not sure if you wanna count that.

My house is about 400 or 450 feet away from the bay.

My apartment is about 20 minutes away from the ocean.

I’m about two miles from Old Tampa Bay (as the osprey flies) and about seven miles from the Gulf of Mexico.

My closest salt water access is to Long Island Sound at Rye, NY, 14 miles away.
Hey, I oughta go to the beach today!

Am I misremembering or weren’t you in Riyadh before?

1.Gets in car
2. Drives 5 Mins
3. Hi Ocean!

No I was in Dammam, now in Jeddah for the last few years.

I’m less than ten miles from the ocean as the crow flies. I’ve spent my entire life in such a position.

Ten miles drive from the largest container port in the country, or twelve the other way to a beautiful and deserted coastline.

A little over a mile to the mouth of the Tyne and the North Sea.

It’s about 1 mile to Puget Sound, 60 miles to the Strait of Jun de Fuca, and 100 miles to the Pacific Ocean, all as the eagle flies.

Make that Juan de Fuca.

The Pacific Ocean is 20 miles to the west of us. San Pablo Bay (an estuary of the San Francisco Bay) is about 40 miles to the south.

Roughly 80 miles from San Francisco Bay, and 90 miles from the Pacific Ocean.

I live a five minute walk from Puget Sound. Distance-wise, I’m not sure. I live by the Ballard Locks, and a few moments walk from Shilshole.

I’ve gone from about 1200 miles (give or take) to about 50 in the last week.

.5 miles from the Atlantic Ocean (OR 3,000 miles from the Pacific Ocean)

Standing directly in front of my house, this photo shows the beach.

Caramba, dude!
