# How come British don't make cars any more?

It’s already happened this year, but there’s also the All British Field Meet at Van Dusen gardens in Vancouver on the Victoria Day weekend, though they don’t appear to have a website. My father had his two Lotuses ('73 Europa and '97 Esprit) there this year, with the Esprit coming in second in its class. And if anybody’s interested, I ran across a _very_ detailed write-up my father did of all the joys and pitfalls of owning a Europa for 25+ years, complete with all the mandatory comments about Lucas, [here](http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Garage/9235/ourcars1.html) while looking for a link to the ABFM. The part about one of the wheels coming off while driving down the highway is particularly enlightening. :eek:
