My apologies. For some reason your scenario had me humming _Me and Mrs. Jones_ while I was typing.
[li]Over time, the lowest valued token would no doubt lose value to the point where it was almost considered a nuisance. Imagine little bowls of nearly worthless tokens sitting right in the vendors’ stores, with little signs on them – possibly even in verse – underlining their lack of value.[/li]
I see your point however, if the designs on these tokens and papers were to change often enough it is possible a market would spring up of individuals who seek to collect all the different designs on them. This would serve to create a situation where these tokens and papers were being traded at various markets or shops between different collectors at a value greater than the original value assinged to them. By printing certain designs in very limited quantities or intentionally making an occasional “error” on a few of the tokens or papers you could end up with certain examples that are even more desirable to these collectors thereby making the value for these individual items skyrocket.

I could see, one day, the system of Tokers and papers causing widespread lethargy.

A system of Tokens and Papers, on the other hand, will clearly be replaced by some kind of electronic system…as will everything else…and eventually we’ll all be in a computer simulated world where we’ll have to develop some kind of system of trade, probably starting with paper and tokens that would clearly be replaced by some kind of electronic system…as will everything else…and eventually we’ll all be in a computer simulated world where we’ll have to develop some kind of system of trade, probably starting with paper and tokens that would clearly be replaced by some kind of electronic system…as will everything else…and eventually we’ll all be in a computer simulated world where we’ll have to develop some kind of system of trade, probably starting with paper and tokens that would clearly be replaced by some kind of electronic system…as will everything else…and eventually we’ll all be in a computer simulated world where we’ll have to develop some kind of system of trade, probably starting with paper and tokens that would clearly be replaced by some kind of electronic system…as will everything else…and eventually we’ll all be in a computer simulated world where we’ll have to develop some kind of system of trade, probably starting with paper and tokens that would clearly be replaced by some kind of electronic system…as will everything else…and eventually we’ll all be in a computer simulated world where we’ll have to develop some kind of system of trade, probably starting with paper and tokens that would clearly be replaced by some kind of electronic system…as will everything else…and eventually we’ll all be in a computer simulated world where we’ll have to develop some kind of system of trade, probably starting with paper and tokens that would clearly be replaced by some kind of electronic system…as will everything else…and eventually we’ll all be in a computer simulated world where we’ll have to develop some kind of system of trade, probably starting with paper and tokens that would clearly be replaced by some kind of electronic system…as will everything else…and eventually we’ll all be in a computer simulated world where we’ll have to develop some kind of system of trade, probably starting with paper and tokens that would clearly be replaced by some kind of electronic system…as will everything else…and eventually we’ll all be in a computer simulated world where we’ll have to develop some kind of system of trade, probably starting with paper and tokens that would clearly be replaced by some kind of electronic system…as will everything else…but at this point we’d all be giant bananas with gold hats that sang songs as directed by red smarties. Ah, but who knows.
