How the comics will handle the attack **Family Circus** Grandpa in Heaven gives victims a kindly welcome. _(Or, evil version:)_ “Who blew up the World Trade Center?” “Not me!” “Not me!” “Not me!” **Funky Winkerbean** Strip explores the pain and anguish of a gay Muslim dyslexic orphan in manner that is not the least pandering or sensationalized, nuh-uh. **Zippy the Pinhead** Zipster exchanges non sequiturs with giant fiberglass figure outside Afghan blanket shop. **B.C.** Cites reassuring message from scriptures, pisses off thousands. **Beetle Bailey** Soldiers salute flag at half staff. **Doonesbury** Condemns Taliban discrimination against women. Recommends drafting (men) to fix. **Garfield** Dumb new dog in the neighborhood: Osama bin Lassie. Garfield kicks him through a tree. ---

Better yet: **Doonesbury** Has a week’s worth of strips talking about how CNN used old footage from 1991 to imply that Palestinians were rejoicing over the WTC attack, and somehow blames Bush for it. And of course, the flip side, **Mallard Fillmore** Runs a week worth of strips lecturing about how Clinton weakened our security. ---

I was actually wondering last night how comic books would deal with it. Many Marvel Comics take place in NYC, and I wonder if this will be integrated into their universe. ---

I wondered about the comic books myself, Legomancer, specifically Green Lantern. The current version lives in NYC (unless that’s changed in the year since i gave up comics for college), and his predeccessor had his (fictional) city destroyed. Plus the old GL is now the wrath of God incarnate… So, yeah, there’s an angle there. ~Menocchio ---

**UserFriendly** Posts a very [moving](http://ars.userfriendly.org/cartoons/?id=20010912) piece showing the caring and concern for those that remain. Later, they move out of the [silo](http://ars.userfriendly.org/cartoons/read.cgi?id=20010913) they’d been living and having many humorous adventures in because “Given the last two days, a missile silo just isn’t cool anymore.” ---
