# How common is it in sports playoffs to sweep....then be swept in the next round?

It’s looking like the Red Wings, usually better than this, are going to get swept by the San Jose Sharks. We just swept the Coyotes in the first round, too.

Is it common to have this occur? Is it rare? Have teams done this in consecutive years?

There was a year the Pistons swept the Lakers in the Finals, and those were the only 4 games L.A. lost in the playoffs.
