I just bought a watch on Ebay-it is in great shape, except that the stainless steel link band is broken. The break is between the last link and the wrist catch. I really want to keep the band, because it is integral with the watch. Would it be possible to silver solder or weld the link to the catch? It would be a delicate operation, because the metall is so thin. Alternatively, could a strong repar be made using some epoxy glue? I appreciate your help! ---

Is taking it to a jeweler completely out of the question? By which I mean to say, are you intent on this being a DIY project?
