In my Pre-IB English II class we spent about 4 weeks on this topic. That’s a fairly large bulk of time for this class. Our main focus was the Bible, studying various OT stories (Isaiah, Elijah, Fall of Man, Abraham). We also studied Greek mythology, which has its own creation myth. To supplement this, we studied creation stories in other cultures (Norse, Hindu, et al.).
It was an interesting lesson segment. We had never really looked at the Bible in school before, and religion wasn’t discussed to this extent, even in History. It’s unfortunate that this is still a rare part of the curriculum.
…and, I gotta ask! Where’s the “G-spot”?
I bet it’s somewhere here in Asia… maybe in Thailand (boy oh boy! If there were ver a place for the G-spot, Thailand is it!!).
Inter-personal relationships (ie: HS ends and you’re not popular anymore, learn to be a real person)
Hi, Opal!
Some sort of class dealing with taking personal responsibility for your actions (or lack there-of). It has been mentioned previously: kids do not know what it means to be responsible to/for something, be it finances, child-bearing or the consequences of their actions. Whether this is the fault of their parents, society or what, I have no idea.
