# How creative are you expected to be at work?

My job is so mindkillingly numb I could be drunk and mostly comatose and I would still work as hard as I do now.

Architect–very creative. My job is constant creativity. I like it, as I enjoy the challenge but some days it would be nice to just sit down and not have to challenge myself everyday.

Half the time I’m doing prospect research, and I have no idea from one day to the next what I’m going to looking for. The other half of the time I’m working on a fundraising reporting program where I get no guidance other than “Just keep going!” So, yeah, I guess I’m expected to be creative.

My company is hostile to creativity, or in fact, any independent thinking whatsoever. That’s why it’s going down the crapper and I’m quitting next Thursday.
