I haven’t read Weber’s work, but this one caught me and pulled me right out of the story:

“Well,” the voice answered, “I have in my hand a coupon, bearing the imprint of Pizza Barn and the telephone number I’m now calling you at.”

Starting with “Well” and ending with “at” … _cringe_ Does Weber do that?

Otherwise it was great. 🙂

If it matches the colloquial accent he’s trying to give one of his characters, then yes, he’ll do that.

Sorry it made you cringe. The rules for dialog _are_ more fast-and-loose than the rules for narrative grammar, you know.
