just watched the musical episode last night…holy crap that was funny as hell, and a good episode!

Sigh. Once again, I seem to be the only Charmed fan.
The only other complete series I have bought (or will buy as they come available) aside from Buffy and Angel is The Sopranos. I rented the first three episodes from Blockbuster and was immediately hooked. Sopranos is definitely not as light as Buffy but does a superb job of mixing gut wrenching drama with the small absurdities of life. It doesn’t deal with monsters per se but rather the brutality of humanity. The character development is wonderful. Tony Soprano is an balding, overweight mob boss and they show him killing people in cold blood without flinching…yet I find myself protective of him and, worse, sexually attracted to him. Tony’s mother, Olivia, is whiny and wretched (“I wish the Lord would just take me now!”) yet I gleefully anticipate her scenes. Then there’s Uncle Junior…suffice it to say that the writing and acting are second to none.
They aren’t cheap, but I’d highly recommend renting or purchasing the entire series.
Tony is appallingly attractive, isn’t he? Yikes.
