# How did I spend my Thanksgiving?

Well, for one thing my family had our dinner the previous Sunday, because of work and necessary travel plans.

Thursday morning I awoke in pain fram what turned out to be an abcess on the inner thigh, in a sensitive area. I called my sister and she encouraged me to go to the ER, which I did. On examination I was admitted, as some of the antibiotics they wanted to give can only be administered by IV, in the hospital. I just got home a little while ago. That’s two and a half days out of my life, lol.

I’ve been in the hospital, but this time I was examined and injected more times than I could count. They were always wanting blood, too.

I can’s say enough about how nice the staff was, but the hospital system is weird. Why did they send physical therapists yesterday to work me over, or ask if I wanted home health care? That latter was after they knew I live alone. And who decided I was under pain and stress and sent a psychiatrist today who asked if I needed to talk? I could go on, but what gets me is that everyone was so _nice_ about things, so I had to be nice back

So now I get one day off, Sunday, and on Monday it’s back to work. Bleagh.

Wow, glad you’re doing better! I don’t know why they sent physical therapists, but the question about home health care makes sense since you live alone. Heck, I WISH I’d been eligible for home health care after most of my surgeries. Re: the shrink, my guess is that somebody decided your answers to their questions indicated you were stressed.

Are you feeling ready to go back to work? That seems like a fast turn-around to me.

I think I’ll be okay, since I do have all day tomorrow to lay around, and get my prescriptions started, plus the ointment for the wound itself, which isn’t all that big. Just sensitive.

Good luck. I hope your return to work goes swimmingly.

I agree on hospital staffs. I was just in for 2 nights. Everyone was dripping honey from their lips. If a bit stand-backish.  
I’ve not experienced that before.
