# How did you find the SDMB?

I was on a sports message board, and one posters, the great **RickJay** said in a post, or maybe it was in his signature – come and argue with me at **The Straight Dope**. So I checked out the SDMB, and I’ve been lurking here ever since.

Of course, I’m only a nineteen year old fossil, and that doesn’t really relate at all, since I found [straightdope.com](http://straightdope.com) during an argument about the lyrics to “Louie Louie.” I spent quite some time reading the archives, then finally got up the courage to click on a “Threadspotting” (the one about “What is this tool?” which turned out to be something for the German telephone company). I think I lurked for a while, I’m not really sure, but am here now.
