# How did Zoom become the default teleconferencing software?

I took music lessons with Skype in 2016. The pc version worked ok. It was a hassle to use. Calls occasionally frooze. I had trouble recording my music lessons. The recording occasionally failed and that really frustrated me.

I tried the Skype App on my phone in 2018. I had a lot of problems and removed it. I dragged out my laptop for the occasional Skype call.

I haven’t tried zoom yet.

Does the zoom app work well? I’m tried of blowing the dust off my laptop for video phone calls.
