Bartending at a decent place can be _ **very** _ lucrative. Plus, the decent places have managers to deal with drunks. I frequent a local place where the regulars know one another and the guests feel privileged to have been included. The bartender probably makes as much money as I do at my high risk, high stress, 40+ hour/week job. I simply can’t get my head around the idea that a bartender might be morally responsible for someone’s alcoholic behavior, it’s nice that Tethered Kite is compassionate though. ---

The pub where hubby and I have lunch regularly is a sort of “Cheers,” pretty much, everyone knows everyone else. There are a few very obnoxious guys, the bartender has had to “disipline.” Did I mention she’s a body bulider? She could, if she wanted, physically, throw them out, but, they are all afraid of her, so mostly, behave themselves. The moral here, is if you want to be a bartender, also be a body builder. 😃 ---
