# How do I attach pictures to a post

I’ve been wandering around and cannot figure it out. I want to add a photo to my post. How do I do that?

You cannot do it in such a way that the pic shows up in the post. This feature is disabled on the SDMB. To link to a photo, you need to use photobucket or flickr or similar photo hosting site to store your photo. Then, link to it like any other URL:  
{[url=www.xyz.com](http://url=www.xyz.com)}link text here{/url}  
only using square brackets.

You can’t. The SDMB supports neither avatars nor attachments. Have you ever seen a photo in a post?

We usually just put the photo somewhere else and link to it. Here’s an example: [Doper pic thread - Miscellaneous and Personal Stuff I Must Share - Straight Dope Message Board](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=409868)

If you need a place to host your picture, there’s several around. I think the most popular one that requires no passwords or signup is [tinypic.com](http://tinypic.com/)
